Doraine Poretz

Doraine Poretz is a poet, playwright, and teacher, and one of the founders of the Venice Poetry Workshop at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice, California. She teaches “Writing Down The Music Of Your Life” writing workshops, catering to adult writers of poetry and prose. She is the author of seven books of poetry, her most recent being “The Moons of Kashar, One Magical Tale and Twenty Poems of Love.” Through her Gangs of the Kosmos theatre collective and spoken word series, Ms. Poretz has curated community poetry and dramatic readings at bookstores, art galleries and theatres throughout Los Angeles. Her plays have been developed at several venues, including the Penguin Rep in Stony Brook, NY, Playwrights Arena in Los Angeles and at the Actors Studio Playwrights Unit, Los Angeles.
