Kaleiheana Stormcrow

Kaleiheana Stormcrow is a queer non-binary Kānaka ʻŌiwi cultural practitioner, ritualist, writer, artist, poet, and wildlife biologist with a focus on ecology and ethno-ornithology. They grew up in Maine & Koʻolaupoko, and lived in the Bay Area and Portland for much of their adult life, where they worked as a hairstylist and spent most of their free time in circus school, practicing yoga, and rock climbing. They have a BS in Fisheries & Wildlife Sciences from Oregon State University with a focus on ecosystem dynamics, and an MS in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from UH Mānoa. Their thesis is about Indigenous Knowledge and Detectability of Pueo (Hawaiian Short-eared Owl, Asio flammeus sandwichensis).
