Dancing Medusa
As the summer progresses, the dancing medusa that is the Cosmos Co-op and its diverse limbs and tentacles continues to find footing in its polyamorous landscape. The texts which arrived in our chronofluid box from the future are finding their way into print, first the writings of Jorin Simula as recounted by Lauren Lockhart last week (“Three Entries from Jorin Simula, 52006-52112”) and this coming week a text by Arkapravo Bhaumik on the harvesting of “Moondust.” There have been several interesting reactions to Lauren’s text, indeed it seems to have struck a sympathetic chord.
We also continue to reflect on the role of AI in our contemporary lives. The article by Tom Valovic (“A Closer Look at the AI Hype Machine: Who Really Benefits”) examines the real beneficiaries of all the AI hype with which we have been inundated for the past couple of years.
And all you writers out there who receive our messages from the void, please keep in mind our current call for submissions for texts dealing with creature consciousness, curated by our own Lauren Lockhart. This topic is of high current interest and speaks to situating our collective selves in a world of much broader thought patterns than we generally assume to be the case. The submission deadline is August 31st, so there is still time to sharpen your quills and dip them into the ink.
Finally, in this week’s Cosmos Café on Thursday, we will be exploring the nature of creativity and the creativity of nature, an area of thought we have visited before but which always calls for being deepened.
