Moments of Emancipation
Dear Metapsychonauts,
As we slouch towards Halloween, the US election, and the return of short days, we look to our growing cohort of visionaries for moments of emancipation. Our series of publications on the theme of Creature Consciousness is well underway, including an influx of poetry as well as longer themed pieces, all of it “throbbing astonishment” to use Pippin’s words from her poem “Kingfisher.” Also, the past week has seen the appearance of a short but pithy text on the power of words by Richard Andrews, who also wrote Key to the Highway, one of our Untimely Books products. Upcoming, more visual art in “Earthscape” by Sarah Pierce and the second instalment of Mother by Marjorie Kaye, accompanied by her vivid art.
Within a month we will be officially launching Cosmos Co-op, a long-awaited frabjous day by a sizeable number of folk involved in bringing this project to fruition. The launch will be held as a hybrid event on November 16 in Longmont, Colorado, and will bring together artists, poets, singers, and musicians to celebrate this birth. More details to come.
This week we continue to celebrate the launch of Andrea van de Loo’s book The Pressing Stones: The Healing Journey of a Nazi’s Daughter. This book is important, especially in these times when fascism is making its ugly presence felt again in the world so prominently. In addition to the Untimely Books site, more information can be found at ThePressingStones.com.
As always, we welcome your support and hope you’ll sign up to become a Patron of Metapsychosis, and learn more about Cosmos Co-op. Finally, don’t forget to leave a comment on our published pieces—these encourage not only the author but also the editors and ensure a stronger sense of engagement between our creatives and our readers.
Signing off,
Geoffreyjen Edwards
